Big houses on big yards in the suburbs have gone the way of tailfins on cars. Middle Tennessee’s newest luxury home development is taking shape in the heart of Franklin within walking distance of the Public Square.

“There’s a sense that people want to live near where they work and where there’s a vibrant sense of community,” said Kirstin Hobday, an executive with Thrive Homes.

The Atlanta-based company is developing Ledgelawn, a “pocket neighborhood” of six new luxury homes that will be built on 3 acres surrounding the historic Dozier Home…

Realtors Not Slowing Down at Year’s End

Winter Home Sales

Middle Tennessee has successfully exited the economic downturn and Realtors throughout the region have been busy all year. What began with window shoppers quickly turned into prospective buyers, increasing open house traffic and showings.

This resulted in contracts and almost a full year of double-digit monthly increases in home sales. The increased activity sparked homeowners to put their houses on the market and inventory quickly moved from “for sale” to “sold” status.

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken to Open West Nashville Location

Beloved restaurant Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is opening a new location in West Nashville.

“At the Broadway store, we do lot of customers who come from local offices and businesses, and a lot of our customers come from those visiting Nashville,” said Nick Bishop, who owns the restaurant with his son, Nick Bishop Jr. “This is really a location more catering to the local population in Sylvan Park, West Meade, Bellevue, Belle Meade – all those areas come into play.”

The former Krystal building at 5209 Charlotte Ave. until recently housed Nuvo Burrito, and Bishop will renovate the space to create a new look…
