Annual Nashville Home Sales Top 30,000 for 1st Time Since 2007

Nashville area home sales rose 13.7 percent for December versus a year ago, pushing yearly sales above 30,000 for the first year since the Great Recession.

Going forward, however, analysts don’t see double-digit sales gains this year because inventory remains tight and the market has returned to more stable levels…

U.S. Housing Starts Jump

Housing Jump

Housing starts in November rose by 22.7 percent from October, according to numbers released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The November number of 1,091,000 was 29.6 percent above the November 2012 rate of 842,000.

Single-family housing starts in Nov. were at a rate of 727,000. That was 20.8%…
