Demo Looms to Make Way for Fifth + Broadway

Demolition of the outdated Convention Center is expected to begin within 6 weeks to make way for Fifth + Broadway, a massive development that will offer retail, office and residential buildings.
The entire development will be undertaken simultaneously with a completion being eyed by 2019’s end, according to a release.

Fewer Condos, More Townhomes Planned for Germantown’s Centerstone Site

The redevelopment of nonprofit organization Centerstone’s former headquarters in Germantown will now involve 47 residential units, down nearly 40% from the previous plan.
Chief Operating Officer James A. Lennon attributed the change toward fewer, but larger residential units to reevaluating the market. “It’s due in part to a stronger sales market in Germantown and in part to rising construction costs,” he said.

Long-Planned Wedgewood-Houston Bar Finally Moving Forward

A Wedgewood-Houston restaurant and bar first announced two and a half years ago is finally making headway, as Hemingway’s Bar & Hideaway is currently under construction.

Located in the Houston Station building, the casual spot, first announced in September 2014, was originally called Hemingway’s Arcade, with the moniker a reference to the literary titan.
